How to join Carmen KC
New singers are added to Carmen KC in the fall before the two concert season. If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out the interest form below, and we will contact you before auditions begin.
Carmen KC rehearses on Monday evenings at Notre Dame de Sion High School in KCMO.
Important Dates:
- Auditions: August 10, 2026, 6:30-8:30 p.m. (Sign up for a time here)
- Rehearsals begin: August 17, 2026
- Fall Concert: November 15, 2026
- Spring Concert: April 18. 2027
Qualifications:
- Required: Experience in church, school, or community choirs and a passion for singing
- A desire to make connections and build community with other treble singers.
- Basic music reading skills, including an understanding of pitch and rhythm.
Audition Details:
- Auditions typically last 10-15 minutes and will be with one director.
- Singers will participate in basic vocal exercises to assess their vocal range.
- Singers should come prepared to sing an excerpt of a song you like and are comfortable with. Your song can be a popular song, a hymn tune, or a well known favorite. If you want piano accompaniment, please bring music.
- The audition will also include basic sight reading and aural recall exercises.
